We are currently accepting submissions

Submission Guidelines:

Fiction & Nonfiction: The prose we are interested is unique, captivating, and experimental. Individual pieces should be no more than 4,000 words. Though that is our maximum word count, we tend to publish shorter pieces of 2,000 words or less.

Poetry: The poetry we find ourselves drawn to is original and innovative. We are eager to publish work that feels adventurous and necessary.

Artwork: We are interested in artwork that is (much like the writing) unique and engaging. We are happy to look at all kinds of art work including but not limited to: paintings, photography, mixed media, graphic design, 2D renderings of 3D artwork, etc.

Please copy your submission into the body of an email and send to editors [at] spilledmilkmagazine [dot] com. You may include a Word Doc if formatting is a concern.

Other things to know:

Please include no more than 5 poems and/or 2 fiction/nonfiction pieces in your submission.

Please include a short bio with your submission.

Submit all work in one email, if possible.

We consider only previously unpublished work.

We do accept simultaneous submissions, but if your work is published elsewhere, please let us know via email.

We encourage you to read at least one issue of our magazine before submitting.

We don't charge for submissions, but we are always looking for help to make Spilled Milk even better.
